Hey everyone, TJ here from Sanctified Homes. As we continue our series on the making of our homes, especially for the Parade of Homes, today, I'm thrilled to introduce you to the LP Expert Finish Siding.
For those familiar with the LP siding from a few years back, you'll notice significant advancements with the Expert Finish. One primary difference lies in the notches present at both ends. These notches ensure a seamless overlap, eliminating the need for any additional flashing metal, and ensuring your home's exterior looks clean and polished.
When working with this siding, it's crucial to keep in mind the importance of treating any non-factory ends. LP provides small bottles of finish to ensure that these cut edges are adequately sealed. But, why is this essential? Leaving edges unfinished can compromise the siding's integrity, potentially leading to issues down the line.
Moreover, when installing, always ensure there's a small gap (roughly the thickness of a 16-penny nail) between the siding pieces. This gap accounts for any swelling or movement due to the elements, ensuring the siding remains intact and functional throughout its lifespan.
Ensuring that all edges, particularly around windows, doors, and terminations, are caulked is key to achieving a polished look. Furthermore, the LP product comes with a unique corner piece, crafted to appear as one solid entity, saving precious installation time and ensuring durability. This is one of the features we've covered in detail in our YouTube Parade of Home Series, which provides insights into our home-building process.
Besides the obvious aesthetic appeal, the LP Expert Finish Siding offers cost benefits when compared to materials like Cedar. With its long warranty covering paint, fading, and more, it promises longevity and minimal maintenance. At Sanctified Construction, we've had great success with this product, primarily because of the meticulousness we bring to the installation process.
If you're thinking about upgrading your home's exterior or are in the midst of planning a new build, consider the LP Expert Finish Siding for its unmatched blend of aesthetics and functionality. Until next time, remember to always raise your standards! Looking forward to bringing you more updates from the field in our next episode.
